Canto Speaker Set

In Spanish the word canto means both I sing and edge. These two words best describe the form language as well as the function of this mp3 dock/speaker device. The intention of the form was, first of all, to provide a modern, faceted and geometrical form language, and to take advantage of the structural strength and manufacturing advantages of simple polygons.

Once the internal components were defined, the initial form ideation changed drastically to accommodate the internal layout, as well as to take into account the cost of manufacturing.
