The Kontour Furniture line seeks to unobtrusively blend into it’s user’s lifestyle. The asymmetrical contours featured in this line, and from which the name derives, are functional, purposeful and also provide contrast against the more solid and collected shapes in the pieces.

As designed objects enter our lives in the real world, they tend to take on unintended roles such as temporary storage, paperweights or coat hangers. The contoured line extruding out the bed foot board in the Kontour bed, for instance, acknowledges that our beds will always be our surface of choice to place our clothes. This contour provides a more convenient surface for this action to take place, and it also gives its owner the possibility to personalize the furniture by purposely placing other fabrics (throws, sheets, etc.) for contrast and decoration. In the case of the nightstand, its front feet function as a storage for both books and magazine of different sizes.
