Origin Office Chair
Origin is an ergonomic task chair designed for the modern worker’s environment and conditions.
For many, a day at work comprises over 8 hours of interaction with a keyboard and mouse.
Unfortunately, current desk and chair configurations push the user to rest his entire upper body weight on his wrists. This causes a very common condition called carpal tunnel syndrome. Furthermore, leaning the body forward to better reach and operate a keyboard and mouse on a desk causes bad posture and consecuently back pain.
Previous attempts have been made to integrate computer input devices and office furnture. Unfortunately, the available technology at the time made these devices complicated, impractical and bulky. Thanks to new touch technology and its reduction in cost this idea can be revisited with a sleek look and an unobtrusive footprint. A digital keyboard is context sensitive and physical keys are irrelevant. This allows for a thinner and smaller device that can nontheless adapt to a wide range of users.
